i am sitting here in a hotel room in boston, with a pot of great coffee next to me, looking out over the city and feeling so at peace. i am totally, gloriously happy right now.

i made it up here by mid-afternoon, a miracle considering that i almost got hit by one of those big trucks carrying a bunch of cars on the back of it (no lie... I slowed down for traffic, he didn't, and he had to swerve around me at the last second, almost hitting another car as he did so).

the hotel is wonderful -- cooshy bed, gorgeous view, and the deepest, most wonderful tub i have ever bathed in. the lobby is totally decked out for the holidays, and for the first time this season, i am in a holiday mood. the valets have taken a liking to my car -- when i got in it last night, the seat was waaaaaaay back and tilted to almost sleeping position... i can totally see one of the guys cruising in my car, leaned back with his limp wrist resting on the top of the steering wheel, to look cool... i think i might start checking the mileage, because i don't want a ferris bueller moment on my hands.

last night was dinner with J2 and his friends at diva, my favorite indian restaurant. we stuffed ourselves silly, and then i went to the tuesday night westie dance and completely danced my ass off. (and i wish that could be literal.) i'd been so nervous that i've lost some of my dance skill, since i haven't had time to dance in the last 2 months... but last night, i had some of the best dances i've ever had. no lie. everything just came together -- the music was awesome, i was psyched to see my dance friends, and we just busted it out. i left there absolutely floating.

today is going to be great. sushi with

the_cook, since he's moving back to holland... shopping for a box for monkey's ashes and a couple of cases of "2-buck chuck" to bring back to philly... manis and pedis with L2, then dinner with her and J... and possibly, (oh, could it get any better?) spending the evening at An Tua Nua, where on wednesdays they have karaoke in the bar and salsa dancing in the back room *dies from the excitement*.
