this week seemed so LONG. thank god for a couple of days off! started the weekend off with D coming over and making an amazing dinner for me:

grilled jumbo shrimp basted in a spicy southwest butter
wilted spinach with bacon
purple rice (yes, it's naturally purple) steamed with pecans and sage
homemade salsa of black beans, avocado, peppers, mango, lime juice and cilantro

it was amazing. i'm actually thinking of picking through the leftovers while he's still sleeping... oh darnit, we're going to use it all for huevos rancheros this morning...

today i get to met his whole family, at his mom's surprise 70th b-day party. i'm a bit nervous, but i think it'll be fun 'cause he says his siblings are a lot like him (which means funny, easy to talk to, easygoing). the aunts and uncles will be there, too. now i just need an outfit...

monkey's eating up a storm, which i am SO happy about. and so is angus, 'cause he gets a little bit of food when she does. i have some hysterical video footage of the 2 of them bitch-slapping each other over the last couple of crunchies in her bowl. ah, sibling rivalry. angus is becoming a little beach ball, i need to be careful to give him less than her when i give them their little meals. i've decided that he has an eating disorder -- he's half-bulimic, meaning he has the "binge" part down but keeps forgetting about "purge"...

it's 8am and i am CRAVING a dunkin' donuts iced coconut coffee... mmmm... coconut...

My sister used to say she was a dyslexic anorexic -- she thought she could never be too fat.

Mebbe Angus is similarly afflicted...

Heh... I must be "half-bulimic" as well... LOL

[Disclaimer - this is in no way a slam on those afflicted with the condition... just sayin']

So. All set to move now? I can not imagine just picking up and going. Of course, I consider myself a "lifer" at my current job - the pay is good and the benefits great, why would I leave? :)
